Hot Belly

A play by Diana Lynn Small

I cried the first time I read this play. And the first time I sat in the room with the actor’s as they read the play.

Over the course of 3 months, copious rewrites and lots of travel to Austin, TX, I created the music for the paper chairs production of Hot Belly.

I dug into old versions of myself to come up with the aesthetic for this play. In Diana’s hands, this play had a authentically-touching DIY-neon glow about the whole adventure through the Midwest.

Here's one song I really love that encapsulates some of the aesthetic of the play:

Hot belly Flashlight Shot Hot belly Ghost Dance
